Smile Design is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join the company located in Tampa, FL. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the FP&A Analyst will be a detail oriented and strategically minded financial specialist.The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements, developing financial models to understand and drive productivity improvements, and be integral to the effective integration of new acquisitions.The financial analyst will work closely with leadership, operations, and functional leadership and ad hoc reports to analyze data and understand the financial performance and position of the organization performing variance analysis and identify key causes of business variances for performance measurement. Working with the CFO and Controller, the FP&A Analyst will be responsible for developing and modifying the management accounting system. This person will develop and improve project costing techniques, institute cost control measures, insure timely and accurate labor, material, and overhead reports, supervises the undertaking of special cost studies and periodically reviews allocation of overhead costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing efficiencies and process improvements within the businesses work streams
  • Partnering with business and departmental leaders to determine and support financial analysis needs
  • Developing, coordinating, and reporting budgets and forecasts for individual departments
  • Managing financial aspects of special projects by determining key drivers, driving the right set of analyses, and presenting the conclusions
  • Assist in defined aspects of the monthly accounting close process
  • Monthly reporting and variance analysis
  • Project margins and performance (also Business Unit performance)
  • Provide senior management with budgets and periodic forecasts, including the following: Profit and loss (income statement)
  • Operating performance for the upcoming quarter and year
  • Take an active role in the broader integration team, helping drive the effective integration of acquisitions.
  • Run annual budgets and forecasts, including the roll-out of regular reforecasting cycles and processes
  • Prepare ad-hoc management financial reports as required
  • Prepare management reporting packs in a timely and clear fashion, with risks and opportunities readily identified

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required; Accounting or Finance degree preferred
  • Previous healthcare services and/or retail experience required
  • Desire to get into the details and assist with variance reporting, financial modeling, and M&A duties
  • Strong accounting skills to assist with aspects of the monthly financial close and to better analyze financial information
  • Strong presentation skills to present to high level roles internally and external investors
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
  • FP&A experience gained within established businesses
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of planning and performance processes, including annual budget, monthly forecast, and periodic business reviews
  • Team orientated and flexible mindset

Location: Ideal candidates will live in the Greater Tampa Bay, FL area. Remote work environment with periodic travel to the Tampa HQ office required.

Compensation: Base + Bonus
