Job Duties and Responsibilities Create metadata for existing collections, artifacts, images, and/or documents that will be used in the HCAC digitization project and the Margaret Walker Personal Papers. Participate in the testing of the HCAC digitization model. Support the transfer of the Margaret Walker personal papers from ContentDM to OmekaS. Work with the Center’s Communications Director to create social media content that highlights the selected HCAC and Margaret Walker Center collections. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, cultural groups, and other stakeholders, especially in conjunction with the COFO Civil Rights Education Center. Represent the Margaret Walker and COFO Centers at community events, meetings, and activities to promote the centers’ programs and initiatives. Design and implement community-based programs and events that reflect the needs of the student population. Work with the HCAC and Margaret Walker Center team on the Smithsonian Traveling exhibition. Recruit Jackson State University volunteers. Perform other duties as assigned by the Margaret Walker Center’s Director.
