Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer IDepartment: TP)Manufacturing TeamShift: Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pmDirect Report: Manufacturing Team ManagerAbout the Manufacturing Process Engineer I positionWe are looking for a reliable Process Engineer to learn, understand, and actively support the uptime of equipment through interactions with operations and maintenance to achieve world class status in tire manufacturing; interact with facility maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective operation of equipment; create and establish concise standard operating procedures for equipment and operators; evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to reduce waste and increase profitability.Supporting Metrics: Reduction of machine faults/ Improved OEE/ Improved Planned Maintenance activities/ Reduction of labor and material costs/ Improved product quality through a robust error-proofing process/ Improved ergonomics and safety at work-stations/ Extended useful life of equipment/ Reduction in set-up and change-over times/ Increased percentage of Planned Maintenance/ Reduced equipment life-cycle costs/ Elimination of conditions for accidentsYou should be a good problem solver with creative approach to your tasks, deeply concerned about quality and efficiency and well-versed in the latest technology trends and best practices. Process Engineer I responsibilities are:Work with a "Safety Always" mindset through supporting and promoting continuous improvement of safety and health in the workplacePerform all duties with a "Quality First" mindset through improvement of work processes and procedures to eliminate and prevent defectsDevelop and maintain a "big picture" focus and understanding of the complete tire manufacturing process within the first 3-months of employmentEstablish good rapport and build working relationships and networks with peers, technicians and other employees to develop a strong network/ support baseDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and other third partiesRemain current with professional practices and maintain a high awareness of new products and procedures in the industry. Monitor trade publications and actively participate in professional organizationsCommunicate information timely and clearlySupport the designation of serial numbers for components, placement of orders and record-keeping of purchases in SAP to ensure required inventory levelsLearn and develop the necessary skills and know-how to complete Consultation Forms accurately and timelyAssist other engineers with proposal development, contract documentation and other activities as requiredEstablish a working pattern where all work activities and plans are "audit ready"Develop a flexible personal work schedule as Tp is a 24/7 operation to ensure necessary work is completed to meet required deadlines through taking ownership in your area of responsibilityPerform routine duties requiring application and knowledge of basic engineering principlesPrepare simple and routine plans, calculations and cost estimates by following standard engineering practices and proceduresInterpret engineering specifications and solve routine problems by applying defined procedures with proven precedentSystematically identify causes of problems and identify possible solutions in a Plan - Do - Check - Act methodologyResearch, learn, and drive introduction of enhanced maintenance techniquesDrive cooperation between operators and maintenance staff to support equipment up-time objectivesSupport improvement of Planned Maintenance activities and schedules to reduce costsSupport definition and application of efficient, sustainable cleaning, inspection, lubrication and re-tightening cycles (5S)Support activities related to improving equipment uptime, e.g. MTBF, MTTR, through application of know-how and skills and using Fault Analysis toolsSupport the restoration and maintenance of basic equipment conditions through analysis to stop deteriorationParticipate in Value Stream Mapping activities to identify NVA and eliminate redundancy and wastePerform additional duties as assigned by managementProcess Engineer I requirements are:Education:(Required) Bachelor's degree, field of science or learning major(Preferred) Mechanical/Industrial Engineering major or advanced degree in a related fieldExperience:(Required) 0+ years of proven engineering experience in the manufacturing industry(Preferred) Relevant experience preferred to include internships or Co-opsPhysical Demands:Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the timeMust be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machineryMust be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinetsMust be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 poundsBenefits:401(k), 401(k) matchingDental insurance, health insurance, vision insurance, life insurancePaid Time OffPaid HolidaysHankook Tire is an equal opportunity employer.
