The Digital Services Product Manager works within the Corwin Learning Services team. The role of the Digital Services Product Manager is to lead product development to deliver and support effective and engaging digital professional learning products for the PL K-12 market.

This role will work closely with the Learning Services Product Manager(s) to deliver and maintain high-impact online tools and training that support Corwin's Product Strategy in collaboration with marketing, events, sales, faculty, and operational teams.

The Digital Services Product Manager will proactively develop ideas throughout the innovation life cycle and identify new opportunities to explore.

This role identifies, develops, and nurtures relationships and partnerships with external organisations whose technology is essential for Corwin's growth and success.

The scope of this role is to expand and support any customer-facing technology products, including but not restricted to customer and certification portals, online training, assessment tools, and any customer-facing technology.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead the assessment of new product ideas to develop business plans: Oversee the initial assessment process for new product ideas, conduct market research with marketing, developing product business requirements including business model, and carry out an internal impact assessment (coordinating with different departments within Corwin), recommending an approach that is appropriate to the risk involved with and the level of budget/investment required for each product.

Manage product development: Liaise with multiple divisions within Corwin (sales, professional learning, instructional design, operations, marketing, content developers) and SAGE (e.g. finance and technology). This role supports Learning product innovation and business development processes.

Works with the Learning and Editorial teams to further develop digital products. Oversees the project management for new product development with business units across Corwin to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Support a plan for ongoing maintenance of products as required.

Market research and user engagement: While maintaining close communication and alignment with the Corwin Services, Marketing, Sales, Acquisitions, and Content Development teams, regularly interact with customers and the broader market to ensure the needs of the wider market and the needs of Corwin customers are represented.

Proposes enhancements and changes to digital products to ensure constant alignment with customer and market needs.

Lead on requirements/Support content development and execution: Support key partnerships through project management and key learning initiatives as they relate to digital products and services.

Led the definition of technical requirements for digital product development, established wireframes, developed prototypes where appropriate, performed user testing, and worked with the services, editorial, technology, operations, and external vendors to define product requirements.

Work closely with editorial and services colleagues to define and refine content requirements for all digital projects.

Project Management: Manages the delivery of new digital products, ensuring a clear introduction of new services. Monitors and manages allocated project budgets, resource needs, and timescales. Reports on the overall status regularly.

Reporting: Regularly provide meaningful product updates, presentations, and reports to relevant project teams and stakeholders, including product updates, usage analysis, product P & Ls, competitive information and enhancement plans.

Maintenance and Support: Manages the workflow for product and content updates, including prioritization to maximise revenue opportunities, profitability and resource usage.

Assists and supports licensee representatives, Corwin staff, and customers in resolving issues and providing high-quality customer and author care.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

  • Knowledge of multimedia storytelling and best practices
  • Project Management experience
  • Instructional Design and Product Innovation
  • Project budget development and oversight experience
  • Ability to research marketplace trends and gather customer requirements
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Minimum of five years experience in operations, product development, and/or program management required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proven ability to plan and implement special projects as required
  • Demonstrated excellence in working with others and maintaining a positive working atmosphere for fellow employees
  • Broad knowledge of, and experience with, computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as professional learning, web, and social networking tools
  • Experience developing online products, including ebooks and courseware
  • Familiarity with K-12, and Corwin services topics
  • Experience managing major projects within a complex organisation
