Job Summary
Our company is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking an Accounting & Finance Manager to join our Corporate Accounting and Finance team in Atlanta, GA at our beautiful location in Buckhead. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the general ledger, financial reporting process, month-end and year-end closing, making journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations, maintaining prepaids and accruals.
Essential Functions of a Corporate Accounting ManagerOrganize, plan, and review month and quarter-end financial closing in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.Produces and manages balance sheets and analyzes future earnings and expenses.Manage day-to-day accounting operations across multiple locations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation.Participate in special projects to improve accounting department operational efficiency and to improve policies and procedures.Responsible for ensuring these employees receive proper training and coaching to produce strong productive employees that are an asset to the company.Intercompany transactions and corporate allocationPrepare S&U and business property tax returns for multiple states.Identify and own process improvements from beginning to end.Assist with budget preparation, audits, and other accounting projects in the office.Act as a mentor for the team and guide associates in developing leadership skills.
Competencies/SkillsDemonstrate effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions and/or reaching conclusions.Strong attention to detail and accuracy, communication skills, judgment and problem solving.Ability to interact with all levels of management.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet the assigned deadlines.Strong skills using Microsoft Office applications.Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Ability to manage direct reports and leverage strengths of the current finance team members.
Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.5-10 years' experience working in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and payroll.
Preferred Education and ExperienceCPA preferredPublic accounting background preferredExperience with ERP systems, NetSuite a plus
