Regular USA, Michigan, Detroit USA, Ohio Job Overview and Responsibilities The Strategic Key Account Manager positions main job responsibility is to be the strategist, the pilot and the actor for the designated Strategic key account(s) consistent with the global market strategy and in conjunction with business line strategies. Management of high level medium to long term customer relationships to deliver the financial targets while sustainably growing the business in line with the market roadmap. The person in this role will interact with the customer at all levels of the organization including Purchasing, R&D, Marketing, and Management locally and globally.

Key Responsibilities:

STRATEGY

* Define and develop a Strategic Key Account Profile and build the Key Account Plan (KAP) according to the customers needs and the GBU roadmap

* Map out full account potential and key stakeholders, set stretch targets and work out key

* buying factors according to segmentation, corporate value and key decision makers

* Analyze and identify Strategic Key Account expectations, opportunities and threats.

* Maintain excellent global data on the account, using all SFDC and Business tools.

* Make the best use of these data to reduce margin leakage and identify key drivers to improve profitability.

* Map out current Share of Wallet

PILOT

* Leading and driving and coaching the global cross-functional customer management team to execute the account strategy towards growth and profitability

* Plan and lead negotiations, selling value over product.

* Prepare action plans for each key account in accordance with overall sales and profit targets;

* has these plans approved and implements them

* Proactively identify gaps with strategic plan and develop corrective action plans to deliver on commitments

* Prepare and implement promotional and customer-service plans that provide a competitive

* response to customer requirements, in accordance with sales and marketing strategy.

* Fosters, monitors and coordinates the pipeline of initiatives with Strategic Key Account(s).

* Engage the Lead team in the definition & implementation of the Key Account Strategy

* Accountable for sustainable, profitable growth at Sales and Contribution Margin level of Global Strategic Key Account (GSKA) with Solvay

ACTOR

* Develop, nurture and motivate a collaborative network at all levels of the customer organization.

* Ensure the customer remains at the heart of all internal processes with a view to continuously secure profitable growth objectives.

* Ensures that all GBU departments involved in managing customers are kept informed of the

* activities of global account customers on a timely basis.

* Monitors competitor actions, ensures that the GBUs offering is competitive and feeds back

* information to the business.

* Develop top of mind preference for Solvay within the Strategic Key Account

Education and Experience

* Bachelors Degree, preferably in a technical field

* At least 10 years of commercial experience, with minimum of 5 years in the plastics industry.

Skills Demonstrated contributions as a clear strategic thinker, understanding the big picture and applying their knowledge and adapting strategy accordingly

* Experience working in a global organization and/or team and behaving and communicating in a way that exemplifies and encourages collaboration and respect and understanding of diverse teams.

* Experience and clear understanding of financial fundamentals; previous experience managing a budget and/or P&L

* Ability to travel globally at average of 50%

* Must speak business English

* Preferred locations are Cleveland, OH or Detroit, MI
