EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS SPECIALIST - Plant Vogtle

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The EP Specialist may be responsible for the following EP functions:

- Develops, maintains, and evaluates Radiological Emergency Plans (REP) in compliance with regulatory requirements. - Develops, maintains, and evaluates EP procedures.

- EP site performance indicator subject matter expert. Maintains PI governance in compliance with regulations and current industry guidance. Coordinate station PI data and records.

- Coordinate site mapping/geographic information system (GIS) to support field monitoring activities, and siren activities.

- Provide for the functional readiness of the Emergency Response facility. Coordinate/conduct maintenance, testing, and inventories of the Facility procedures and equipment to ensure continuous operability.

- Preparation/review/approval of 10CFR50.54(q) documents.

- Drill and exercise preparation, coordination, evaluation, and scheduling. Lead and perform scenario development team activities and drill reports in conjunction with lead drill writer.

- Maintaining the site ERO roster filled and qualified.

- Lead or conduct self-assessments, audits, and inspections.

- Maintain adequate documentation to support EP activities.

- Maintain relationship with Local Emergency Management Agency's supporting Alert and Notification Systems activities.

- Ability to build effective working relationships with federal, state, and local personnel involved in Radiological Emergency Planning (REP) Support

- Maintain the Emergency Preparedness auto call out system

Job Requirements:

- Current or Previous Site Emergency Response Organization experience required

-Previous experience fire, law enforcement, medical, or EMA preferred.

- Must be qualified or able to get 10CFR50.59 qualification

- FEMA REP Courses preferred: AWR-317, AWR-318, AWR-327, AWR-351, AWR 352, AWR-923 and AWR-929

Educational Requirements:

- BS degree (technical) OR Applicable professional certification (e.g. Licensed Operator, HP) or an Associate's Degree with 2 years applicable experience strongly preferred

- OR a High School diploma with 5 years' experience in EP, Operations, Operations Training, Security, Radiation Protection, or Emergency Management Government Agency strongly preferred

Background/Experience Requirements:

- The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Ability to interface with managers and staff at all levels within the SNC organization

- Ability to plan, organize and direct the testing of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts

- Knowledge of EP regulations, regulatory guidance documents and industry guidelines related to EP is desired

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
