Freese and Nichols is seeking a Texas Transportation Program Manager in North Texas (Fort Worth, Dallas, Frisco or Denton). As Texas Transportation Program Manager, you will support the practice leaders and sales team to identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities. You will work to support a broad spectrum of transportation domains including roadway/highway design, planning, municipal/county bond programs, construction contract administration, quality control, estimating, cost and schedule management, change management, in collaboration with the transportation, program management and construction management practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set direction and strategy for municipal/county and TxDOT pursuits and teaming opportunities. Integrate strategies into the roadway, highway, program management and construction management practice plans and operational budgets for groups across the company.
  • Serve as project manager on key city/county/TxDOT projects requiring intergroup skills and subconsultants close client coordination
  • Coordinate with operational groups assigned to the projects to ensure continuity, consistency, and quality.
  • Resolve project matters for solutions and recommendations for the client
  • Determine and maintain an established schedule and collaboration of transportation programs.
  • Evaluate and analyze project decisions to ensure objectivity, soundness of design, and impact of those decisions on schedule, budget, and needs
  • Be the lead project manager to pursue and win large transportation programs and key pursuits
  • Serve as technical lead on proposals
  • Develop relationships with city/county/TxDOT and other transportation agencies in support of design and program management opportunities
  • Develop relationships, teaming strategies, and work with other transportation and program management staff across the company
  • Remain up-to-date on existing and pending regulations and related technological advancements
  • Participate in the administration, interpretation, and implementation of contracts
  • Serve as a mentor to young staff and as senior advisor on projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
  • 8+ years' experience in engineering, with 5+ years on TxDOT projects
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with City/County/TxDOT processes and procurement
  • Knowledge of alternative delivery contracts and contract administration
  • Proficient in performing constructability reviews
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods
  • Capable of effectively leading and managing diverse teams and personnel on complex projects or tasks
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred
  • Strong network with cities and counties in Texas, TxDOT, and various local transportation agencies.
