DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTIONPosition:Client Intake Specialist Department:Mission Services, Career ServicesSupervisor:Director of Career ServicesFLSA:ExemptPosition Summary: The Client Intake Specialist (CIS) is a deeply caring individual that guides those needing Career Services through the program enrollment process. This position involves heavy phone, client interaction, and computer usage. The CIS will need to be conversational, have unconditional positive regard for all people, and be a warm individual with whom clients will feel comfortable sharing their personal information and stories. The right candidate is a team player with a commitment to contributing to collaborative work streams and a heightened level of initiative to get things done. You understand when working with vulnerable populations you will wear "many hats," will be expected to get results in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with purposeful change on a daily basis. Core Duties & Responsibilities: 1) Provides program enrollment services for walk-in and individuals referred for career services2) Completes all required intake paperwork and assesses each individual for barriers to employment.3) Provides referrals to other social service agencies if a client has needs outside Goodwill's Scope of Service.4) Maintains electronic and paper records and assist with reports as requested, including maintaining accurate records in Client Management System database.5) Manages client files and ensure all files contain all necessary documentation.6) Oversees special program intake and services as needed. 7) Maintains confidentiality.8) Works effectively with employers, other staff, employees, clients, consumers, referral agencies, and other community entities on a day-to-day basis.9) Interviews potential clients to determine qualifications, interests, and to determine eligibility to access specialized grant funded services and provides screening and orientation of clients for admission to various programs.10) Actively collaborates with Team to meet grant requirements.11) Reviews and analyzes service reports with Director to drive efficient and effective service delivery.12) Performs other duties as assigned.13) Some travel within the Goodwill Dallas Service area may be required, as well as travel to and from partner sites for outreach.Preferred/Required Qualifications: 1) GED or High School Diploma Required.2) Experience in social services, business, or related field is a plus. 3) Excellent computer and communication skills. 4) Flexibility to adapt to tasks as required by clients and/or leadership. 5) Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to use good judgment, and work with minimal supervision.6) Ability to work effectively as a member of the Mission Services Team and under the direct guidance of the Director of Career Services. 7) Complete required courses and obtain required certifications (UNTWISE Job Skills, Job Placement, First Aid, CPR) and obtain other employment related credentials as necessary.
