Summary Reporting to the Senior Director of People Strategy/HR, this position will be the lead HR staff for general support for association staff. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of HR experience in recruitment, onboarding, HR technology, and HR administrative operations. Implements strategies to support organizational priorities with focus on departmental contributions for Association. Prepares for approval compliance requirements and documents and seeks out opportunities for continuous quality improvement in department activities. Is an effective champion of the Association vision, mission and brand. Essential Functions Serve as lead admin for operations for the department Serve as a liaison to staff for general HR information (employee manual, etc.) ensuring smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries Maintain working knowledge of Association’s policy and procedures Maintain HR calendar Maintain agendas for team meetings Update and maintain HR records Process invoices in finance system Process monthly credit card statements Update/maintain forms (professional development, gym membership, etc.) Order Business cards Post and manage job postings Coordinate and manage all interview scheduling (from initial to final) Coordinate and manage new hire onboarding: scheduling of orientations/training sessions Coordinate services (Facilities, IT) for new hires and temps Participate in interviews Support and coordinate activities to increase employee engagement Become familiar with and able to respond to employee questions regarding APTA’s policies and procedures Recommend updates to, or new, policies Recommend and implement improvements to organization-wide processes Maintain/update HRIS system with changes (staff, documents, job postings, etc.) Demonstrate willingness to grow in the HR profession Participate in professional development opportunities to improve knowledge of HR and employment law (ADA; FLSA; FMLA; DOL policies, etc.) Staff Expectations Upholds and fosters team values Complies with all APTA policies and procedures Performs other duties as assigned to foster the achievement of association priorities Qualifications Associate degree in HR or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a progressive HR role HR professional certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion Strong communication skills – written and verbal Strong interpersonal skills Must work well in a team environment Strong organizational, time management skills, and attention to detail Project management skills a plus Working knowledge of database systems and common HR applications HRIS experience preferred; Paycom a plus Working knowledge of employment law and an active interest in continuing education of same Travel Requirements None How To Apply Please send resume and cover letter, including salary requirements, when applying.
