Description

SUMMARY
The Alumni Relations and Gifts Specialist will play a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships with Bishop Moore Catholic High School (BMC) alumni and cultivating gift opportunities to support the school's growth and mission. Working closely with the Director of Alumni Relations and the Advancement team, the Specialist will contribute to the development and execution of strategies to engage alumni and encourage their participation in BMC's initiatives.

Alumni Relations and Gifts Specialist is a full time, 12 month position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and functions, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this classification. They are not listed in any order of importance. Support and assist special alumni events and duties including:
  • Alumni Weekend - homecoming activities including the BBQ, alumni Mass
  • All Souls Mass
  • Christmas Party - December 26 each year in the Moore Center
  • 40 Under 40
  • Hall of Fame ? Reunions - coordinate, plan, and assist all class reunions
  • Alumni Scholarships - assist in the nomination and selection process
  • Host Alumni Tent at home FB games on reunion weekends
  • Regional College Visits
  • Regional Alumni Networking
  • Campus Tours
  • Alumni Scramble
ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports Director of Alumni and Advancement team as needed with the following:
  • Facilitating the identification, nurturing, and solicitation of potential donors and alumni.
  • Contributing to the process of building relationships with alumni and securing philanthropic support.
  • All Alumni social media platforms including website
  • Maintain and update records in Raiser's Edge NXT database to ensure that data is current
  • Moore Magazine - alumni information (births, marriages, deaths, updates),alumni articles
  • Alumni updates in database
  • BIG Give - alumni messages
  • Hornet Expo - assist Admissions department with alumni connections
  • Manage alumni quarterly e-newsletter
  • Any other needs of the Advancement office as assigned by the Director of Advancement
Requirements

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge: Should be able to demonstrate skills defined within content of job description, including excellent written and verbal communication skills. Expertise with Google applications.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in the development and implementation of communications products and tools in a fundraising environment.
  • Personality: High level of energy, initiative, enthusiasm, cooperation, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Beliefs & Values: Embrace the vision of the school and strive for excellence by furthering the mission of Bishop Moore Catholic High School.
  • Bishop Moore Alumni preferred.
JOB SCOPE

Position encounters varied work situations with moderate complexity, operating from both established and well-known procedures. Operates with supervision; may involve review of confidential and/or sensitive issues with direct supervisors. Other responsibilities require access to confidential/sensitive information. Position maintains files containing sensitive and confidential documents.

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS

Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, teamwork, service orientation, and good organizational skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, hear, and see up close and from

afar. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting,

carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (15 pounds). Must be able to use basic office

computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally

and in written form.

  • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce clear, concise reports and recommendations and make presentations to varied groups.

  • Able to quickly earn the confidence of those with whom this individual collaborates and coordinates information.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening

and weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure.
