Position Overview: We are currently looking for a skilled Director of Taxation to lead our tax compliance and strategy. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's financial success by managing all aspects of taxation, implementing tax planning strategies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Director of Taxation will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize our tax position.

Responsibilities:
  • Main areas of focus will be management of the quarterly tax provision and SOX compliance as part of our quarterly and annual reporting calendar.
  • Management of all aspects of tax compliance, including SOX compliance, the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns, and compliance with unclaimed property laws.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors, and legal counsel to address complex tax issues and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on tax-related matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax issues and developments, staying abreast of changes in tax laws and advising management on potential impacts.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liability and maximize financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with tax authorities, ensuring a proactive and collaborative approach to tax matters.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in taxation, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree in taxation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in tax management for publicly traded companies.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Solid leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Experience with tax planning and optimization strategies for large revenue organizations.
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
