Responsibilities

The role is responsible for leading the strategy, design and development of a world-class strategic sourcing, procurement and category management function in MSA. This involves setting policies, managing budgets, driving data-driven supplier selection processes, identifying supply chain-related risks, implementing compliance and risk mitigation strategies, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive cost reduction activities. Global travel estimated 20%.

Strategic Sourcing Leadership

* Develop, manage, and execute sourcing strategies designed to support and enable MSA strategic vision* Lead the global team in comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, cost-saving opportunities, and emerging trends* Oversee the sourcing process from supplier identification to contract negotiation and supplier onboarding. Establish a robust supplier evaluation framework* Partner with leaders across MSA to ensure the function provides efficient and effective category strategies, preferred suppliers, initiative requirements, competitive supplier evaluation, contract negotiation and strategic supplier management services that support the on-going needs of the business* Lead and project manage cross-functional teams on specific strategic sourcing initiatives or projects* Develop, monitor, and analyze key procurement metrics and spend analytics

Procurement Leadership

* Develop, lead and implement the purchasing strategy for MSA* Manage current procurement policies, procedures and programs and provide overall governance* Oversee the purchasing process, ensuring compliance with established guidelines, policies, and regulations* Focus on innovation and identification of new technologies to ensure MSA is achieving cost, quality, and delivery targets* Foster collaboration and sharing of best practices and knowledge

Cost Management

* Devise strategies to lower company costs (direct and indirect costs) and minimize company risk that starts with analyzing spend, determining optimal sourcing strategies, establishing competitive bidding, negotiation, and terms & conditions requirements, to achieve desired results.* Lead the cost management strategy to yield cost synergies, supplier categorization & consolidation, supports New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE)

Contract Management and Collaboration:

* Oversees negotiations for major contracts and agreements, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the organization* Ensure supplier performance is meeting expectations, contractual commitments, and service levels and that any concerns are communicated in a timely manner* Ensures the team collaborate closely with different stakeholders to develop robust contracts that mitigate risks and protect the organization's interests* Implement contract management best practices to ensure compliance and achieve cost savings.* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate sourcing strategies and work closely with the team to drive innovation, improve quality, and optimize lead times with suppliers* Drives communication and coordination between internal teams and suppliers

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

* Identify and assess potential risks within the supply chain and sourcing processes* Lead and implement risk mitigation strategies* Stay informed about geopolitical, economic, and industry trends that may impact sourcing strategies* Drive continuous improvement initiatives optimizing processes and reducing costs* Lead programs that continually improve supplier performance in regard to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and corporate social responsibility initiatives, including supplier diversity.

Qualifications

Education & Experience (required):

* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline* 10 years relevant experience* Experience in coaching / developing others* Experience with Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation, Supplier Evaluation, Commercial Contract Understanding, Risk Mitigation, Commodity Markets* Research, Index Pricing or Total Cost Assessments.* Prior experience with inventory optimization in a rapidly growing lean manufacturing environment.* Excellent problem-solving skills and negotiation skills.* Strategic thinker around sourcing and procurement.* Demonstrated ability to leverage data and experience to drive continuous improvement.* Contract review and terms and condition experience.* Multinational and entity experience.* Highest-level of personal accountability and ownership for all interactions and outcomes.* Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.* Supervisory and management experience.* Knowledgeable of procurement software systems which create efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.* Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.* Strong planning and organizational skills.

Education & Experience (preferred):

* Master's degree* CPM or CPSM certification* Knowledge of direct and indirect Strategic Sourcing concepts: Categorization, Supplier Performance Management, Cost Management, Contract Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Supplier Diversity* Skilled in SAP ERP system's purchasing functions - purchase orders, consignment, supplier agreements* New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), Clean Sheet Analysis* Procure-to-pay (P2P) processes and System deployments
