We are currently seeking to add an engineer with mechanical reliability expertise to our team in Cincinnati (Mason, OH). This engineers focus will be on durability, reliability analysis/testing, measured data analytics and material modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong industry application-based background in mechanical reliability engineering. The individual must possess strong problem-solving skills, client interaction and aptitude for working in a consulting environment. Responsibilities: The Mechanical Reliability Engineer will be an integral part of a dynamic team within our Consumer Products, Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical Practices. The person in this role will focus on providing engineering services including requirements development, failure analysis, mechanical analysis/testing, and reliability engineering services. Responsibilities of an individual in this role include but are not limited to: Providing subject matter expertise in reliability assessment of medical devices, medical capital equipment, in-vitro devices, consumer appliances and production equipment. Expertise must include design for reliability, reliability planning, reliability analysis, reliability testing. Drive day-to-day decisions to ensure products are in compliance with quality, client and regulatory requirements. Lead customer engagement in areas such as mechanical system verification & validation activities while understanding and balancing design and performance objectives. Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment and engage with Mechanical, Electrical & Software Engineers to achieve clients objectives Provide project support and guidance for testing, analysis, and reliability subject matter expertise particularly with respect to durability and fatigue of mechanical systems. Provide risk analysis, risk mitigation, and corrective action and preventive action based on design review of devices and equipment. Provide analytics of test data for reliability and performance assessment. Leverage state of the art systems modeling software and analysis techniques to solve complex problems for clients and providing solutions based on leading-edge techniques and technology. Qualifications: MS or PhD in mechanical engineering with 6 to 8 years of experience in reliability engineering, analysis and test data analysis. Experience working and/or leading a cross functional team is required. Must have the ability to understand project tradeoffs, interdependencies, and constraints. Experience with reliability engineering methods including reliability/survivability statistics and Design of Experiments required. Experience in managing the execution of complex systems engineering activities required. Must be self-motivated, organized, and a problem solver who demonstrates knowledge of fundamentals but also has ability to view the big picture Interest in client development and entrepreneurship to support the growth of a team and organization preferred. Previous product development, reliability assessment experience or experience with structured and disciplined processes (such as automotive or aerospace) preferred. Experience with tools such as nCode, Reliasoft, Ansys/Abaqus is required. Proficiency in reliability modeling, assessment tools and techniques including Weibull is necessary. Must be able to work in the USA.
