Our client is seeking a Project Manager with experience in the gaming industry to join their team.
Project Manager (Gaming Industry)
Location: Remote (working PST hours)
18 months contract
Pay rate: $56/hr
Summary:
The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.
- Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
- Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
- Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
- Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.

- Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to provide business support throughout Microsoft Gaming.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to multiple projects based on need, focusing on helping ensure project completion, and working on new initiatives.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of heads down work 80%, (following up on action items, risk identification and mitigation, team support, partner resolutions). There will also be weekly meetings for each project, 10-15%.

- Years of Experience Required: 5+ overall years of experience in the field.
- Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in business admin or related field is required to be eligible for this role. A PMI or PMP are nice to have.
- Disqualifiers: Candidates with less than 18 months of access will not be eligible for the role.
- Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain recent experience with Xbox, has worked in numerous partner facing roles as a PM, and has a PMI or PMP.
- Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and deadlines
- Minimum 5 years experience with project management
- Minimum 4 years experience within the gaming industry.
- Minimum 5 years experience with B2C workflows
