Job Description

The Financial Analyst III is responsible for executing on the VP of P&A's vision with regards to the group's structure, quality/quantity of work, and team members' training and development and providing analytical support to all Genting Americas East properties and departments.

Essential Duties

  • Compile and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.
  • Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to management.
  • Perform financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.
  • Provide analytical and systems support to assess and monitor performance of each property.
  • Produce and utilize a variety of reports and programs necessary to complete all assigned duties.
  • Maintain all necessary electronic files and paper copies.
  • Assist in special projects.
  • Provide analysis for all companywide programs, assists with the budget process.
  • Track and record daily Gaming, Food & Beverage, Retail, and Hotel statistics for monthly and annual analysis.
  • Prepare financial schedules exhibiting department and company-wide performance for management presentation at monthly review meetings.
  • Analyze promotional programs in order to determine their effectiveness as measured by revenue generated compared to cost, which facilitates marketing decision-making.
  • Prepare reports which sum and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Study and analyze processes & procedures to improve efficiency of operations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Promote positive public and team member relations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required, second language a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.

Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal, and work with mathematical such as probability and inference. Ability to create, read and analyze spread sheets of statistical data. Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request.

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. When on the property or some back of house areas, the noise level increases to loud. Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.
  • Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
Work/Educational Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND three (3) years of work or educational experience conducting detailed statistical or data analysis required. Advanced Degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Math or related area with a quantitative emphasis is preferred.
  • Experience (2+ years) preparing budgets and monthly financial reports.
  • Experience (2+ years) with financial statement analysis methodologies. Expert knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and methods, with the ability to build models using retrieved data.
  • Previous experience with MS Access, SQL, Business Intelligence and/or SAP is required.
  • An understanding of the gaming industry is preferred.
  • Expert understanding of computer-generated reports, forms, and programs as necessary to complete all job tasks.
