Summary:The Site Safety Supervisor's primary role is to manage and implement work site safety programs, working with Supply Chain management to formulate policies and procedures. They analyze reports to enhance safety, oversee accident-prevention systems, and coordinate personnel activities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. They identify potential hazards, recommend mitigation plans, and ensure a safe work environment for all stakeholders.

Some of the work you will do:

  • Recommend, and execute health and safety plans in the worksite according to legal Guidelines.
  • Prepare and enforce corporate & client policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
  • Support site management to enhanced capacity to deliver on-site training and mentorship to operators regarding mechanical, safety, and maintenance aspects of WesTech equipment, with independent judgment and minimal help from office personnel.
  • Enforces compliance of operations personnel with administrative policies, procedures, manufacturing specifications, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
  • Conduct inspections at Supply Chain facilities, ie Manufacturing and Operations center
  • Investigates injuries and accidents and prepares reports for executive review or use in insurance claims or legal action
  • Coordinates facility tours and inspections to detect potential or existing hazards and
recommends corrective actions.
  • Recommends expenditures for acquiring new equipment that would increase the efficiency and safety of operations.
  • Prepares recommendations on findings for management evaluation.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
  • Monitor compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
  • Report accidents or incidents to the WesTech Safety Management and company leadership.
  • Continuously evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and ensure adherence to laws and standards.
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time, between local Supply Chain sites.
Here are the skills that you need:
  • Completed OSHA 30 in Construction.
  • Attendance at Safety Summit, Safety Breakfast, and Safety Leadership Training.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in a field service technician role.
  • Knowledge and physical skill to use a wide variety of power tools used in metal fabrication (especially welding and cutting), hand-held tools, and diagnostic and measuring devices to inspect, build, and repair equipment.
  • Advanced experience in fabrication, welding, and inspection.
  • Moderate process knowledge in the application of chemistry, biology, or other related water treatment processes.
  • Understanding of federal/state/municipal health and safety guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
  • Attention to detail and observation ability.
  • Ability to maintain favorable client and customer service relations.
  • Communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be able to complete site entry requirements which may include any/all of the following:
    • Minimum of 21 years of age.
    • Criminal Background check.
    • Drug testing.
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
    • Work site-specific training.
    • Hep A Series shot.

Experience and Certifications:
  • HAZWOPER Training.
  • Experience with facilities risk assessment.

  • SHA-Authorized Trainer.
Two-year degree in a mechanical trade program, programming or electrical/journeyman, plumbing, or related hands-on experience in these trades or skill sets.
  • Moderate experience with servicing equipment similar in nature to WesTech equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand, bend, see, hear, speak, work at heights, work in confined spaces, work with chemicals, work at computer/desk and lab table. Exposure to elements; cold, heat, wet, and/or dark. It may be in a safety harness. When in the fabrication shop, it may involve utilizing hands in and around mechanical parts. May be required to be clean-shaven for proper use of respiratory equipment.
