As a Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing street tree planning projects across the five boroughs, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety protocols. Job Description:+ Conduct 100% field work, primarily focused on street tree planning projects within one borough.+ Actively observe contractors on site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.+ Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure adequate staffing levels for project requirements.+ Collaborate with the Parks Department and contractors to facilitate project progress.+ Utilize specification books to understand project requirements and ensure compliance.+ Maintain a safe work environment, including ensuring contractors wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).+ Record and track measurements for pay items, such as tree planting and excavation, to facilitate contractor payments.+ No tree climbing, pruning, or work on active roadways; all activities will be conducted on land level.+ Comfortable with working hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.Qualifications:+ Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in construction related industry+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management+ Detail-oriented with strong report writing skills.+ Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.+ Must have personal vehicle+ OSHA 10 certification required (can obtain after receiving an offer)About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
