System process startup consists of providing semi-complex to complex product support to customers both in the field on job sites and remotely via telephone and email for the Biological Systems product lines. Control system design consists of creating schematics, panel layouts, PLC and HMI programs for a wide variety of water treatment control systems. The position reports to the Electrical Controls Team supervisor and works closely with various teams, including product/technology management, sales support, order execution, R&D, etc. The position requires a good working knowledge of the product line, control systems and the ability to process and interpret complex and not well defined issues and challenges related to biological and physical-chemical wastewater and water treatment. What we can offer youOur Total Rewards Program goes far beyond base compensation by providing a more fulfilling work experience and offering a competitive benefits program, including: Health, dental, and vision insurance Unlimited PTO Fertility benefits, adoption assistance, parental leave, and pet insurance Generous retirement savings and profit-sharing plan Employee wellness program Rewards and recognition program Employee Stock Purchase Plan that provides an opportunity to build ownership and share in Evoqua's success.System Process Startup Responsibilities On-site process start-up and operations leadership and support for full scale installations and pilot studies for product line selling efforts Perform process and controls training for customers Perform analytical testing on water and wastewater samples and evaluate results for process adjustments and improvements Data analysis and process troubleshooting both on-site and remotely Assess and resolve process, instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical issues in the field Provide written and verbal summaries of work activities to customer and internal team Identify, coordinate, and engage with other functional teams to complete assignments Support product development and improvement initiatives and share lessons learned in the field to assist in product improvement Compile data and write summary reports of pilot and research activitiesControl System Design Responsibilities Work closely with Sales Engineer, Project Manager and Project Engineer in the creation and customization of water/wastewater products and systems Ensure all engineering and design tasks are completed on time and on budget while upholding the highest quality along with meeting customer technical requirements Conduct factory testing of controls and automation systems, travel to customer locations for field testing, troubleshoot systems remotely working with field engineers Design controls and automation systems, including motor control panels, PLC and instrument panels, while applying knowledge of NEC, UL and CE standards Write PLC and HMI programs using Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon and GE PLC and HMIs, and configure communication protocols for PLC, including Ethernet IP and Modbus Write instruction manuals for controls and automation systemsThe position requires good communication and organizational skills and the ability to take initiative to find solutions while working with diverse external groups and internally across departments and teams.Position RequirementsRequired Skills: Minimum of 5+ years experience working with products and technologies in the wastewater industry. BS or MS in Engineering: Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Electrical or Mechanical Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work well with others with minimal supervision. Ability to travel up to 30-40% domestically and internationally. Mechanical aptitude and ability to assess and respond to issues as they arise.Preferred Skills: Experience with process equipment, instrumentation, and controls. Knowledge of the product line or closely related products is highly desirable.
