The position is based in Lexington, KY with others available in Glen Allen, VA, Chantilly, VA, and Virginia Beach, VA.
Are you capable of engineering fire protection systems for medium-to-large scale projects independently, or smaller projects with some guidance from senior engineers? This role involves:
- Creating and editing project documents like drawings and specifications
- Developing a deeper understanding of sprinkler and fire alarm systems, as well as building and life safety codes
- Performing engineering calculations and directing designer staff
- Supporting construction phase activities like submittals and RFIs
- Actively develop skills across all aspects of fire protection engineering
- Effectively communicate with clients and present ideas
- Coordinate well with project team members and understand project costs
- Build trust with colleagues, seek support when needed, and maintain professionalism
- Take direction from senior staff and guide junior team members as needed
- Bachelors or Master's Degree in Engineering in a relevant Engineering discipline, Fire Protection preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- EIT required, PE preferred. Ability to obtain PE required.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance, current active clearance preferred.
- EXCEL, WORD, PowerPoint, CAD/BIM, Revit.
- Great attitude and team player.
- Successful completion of background screening process.
- Salary: $87K/yr - $131K/yr, salary negotiable
