The position is based in Lexington, KY with others available in Glen Allen, VA, Chantilly, VA, and Virginia Beach, VA.

Are you capable of engineering fire protection systems for medium-to-large scale projects independently, or smaller projects with some guidance from senior engineers? This role involves:

  • Creating and editing project documents like drawings and specifications
  • Developing a deeper understanding of sprinkler and fire alarm systems, as well as building and life safety codes
  • Performing engineering calculations and directing designer staff
  • Supporting construction phase activities like submittals and RFIs
You'll excel in this role if you can:
  • Actively develop skills across all aspects of fire protection engineering
  • Effectively communicate with clients and present ideas
  • Coordinate well with project team members and understand project costs
  • Build trust with colleagues, seek support when needed, and maintain professionalism
  • Take direction from senior staff and guide junior team members as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Engineering in a relevant Engineering discipline, Fire Protection preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • EIT required, PE preferred. Ability to obtain PE required.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance, current active clearance preferred.
  • EXCEL, WORD, PowerPoint, CAD/BIM, Revit.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.
