We are searching for a Product Development Engineer in the Detroit, MI area to work for an industry-leading automotive manufacturer. Candidates should have experience managing product development projects within the automotive industry from beginning to end. Experience with automotive accessories or fleet vehicles is preferred.
This is a long term contract position that could lead to a direct hire role.
location: Dearborn, Michigan

salary: $35 - 42 per hour
work hours: 8am to 5pm
education: Bachelors
responsibilities:
- Manage all vehicle accessory projects from beginning to end.
- Incorporate new products into the program cycle plan, established testing/validation disciplines.
- Work with suppliers to design new accessories, Provide and validate required data, perform packaging and environment studies, and arrange design review and validation, to include styling, engineering and management.
- Supports prototype fit ups and reviews, lines up vehicles, parts, and generates work orders to perform required work
- Releases new parts through the engineering release system, and reviews all releasing documents and maintain records.
- Experience level: Experienced
- Minimum 4 years of experience
- Education: Bachelors (required)
