Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Business
  • 5+ years experience in sales management
  • Strong understand of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams.
  • Strong background in flat rolled metal product knowledge.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of supplier relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities & Authority:

Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive business in new and existing markets.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Directs the resolution of escalated issues arising from sales and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Mentor employees to help them achieve individual & team objectives.
  • Monitors and manages expenses for sales department in relation to customer retention, development, and growth.
  • Hosts weekly calls in relation to market pricing and monthly company-wide sales meeting.
  • Works with ownership to understand and achieve goals in relation to overall margin and sales performance.
  • Understands and reviews costs (mill or operational) in relation to achieving margin targets and profitability.
  • Establishes and monitors pricing for price lists, programs, or transactional opportunities.
  • Manages a small percentage of company accounts.
  • Travels when needed to continue development and relationships with customer base.
  • Works with purchasing/inventory manager to help monitor customer inventory and commitments in order to achieve target goals and mitigate carrying expenses.
