SUMMARY:

The

Lead Reliability Engineer

is responsible for establishing and maintaining maintenance lubrication programs for equipment, maintaining records on equipment, and providing expertise and technical support on the overall reliability of plant systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishes and maintains preventative maintenance lubrication programs for equipment and sets parameters for the amount and type of maintenance performed within the programs.

Maintains records on equipment histories and costs using SAP and coordinates with operations and maintenance supervisors to make needed changes to increase reliability.

Analyzes records, troubleshoots equipment problems, and makes procedure recommendations to operations and maintenance.

Works with the Maintenance Supervisor to help manage the maintenance and project teams during plant outages.

Helps Maintenance Clerk analyze work orders for equipment. Makes recommendations regarding equipment and material requirements.

Diagnoses root cause and specifies the method of repair for plant equipment.

Documents projects and technical work by setting up necessary files and preparing appropriate records and reports.

Coordinates the creation of the spare parts list and lubrication list for the entire plant in conjunction with Vendor recommendations and industry standards.

Liaison with outside contractors, suppliers, and representatives of other companies on matters of mutual interest involving rotating equipment and general maintenance, as well as compliance with standards, specifications, and regulations.

Participates in recommending and requisitioning equipment, tools, materials, and spare parts.

Works with Maintenance Supervisor to manage rotating equipment’s PM schedule.

Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in prioritizing, planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance activities.

Owner of all Maintenance-related documents throughout the project's lifetime.

Helps develop the Project MOC procedure.

Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (SAP) to control spare parts inventory and schedule work orders.

Ensure that all equipment procedures are kept up to date with yearly

Review vibration reports and work with contractors to implement recommendations and report actions to vibration analysis contractors.

Works closely with Maintenance and Process Supervisors to maintain equipment performance.

Provide the expertise and technical support to maintain and improve the reliability of plant systems, including data gathering, failure analysis, troubleshooting, and the development of predictive/preventative maintenance programs for equipment.

Assist in reviewing any equipment replacements in the future.

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

5+ years of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, and Plant Operations.

Strong ability to collaborate with different levels within the organization

Strong communication and networking skills.

An ability to manage work priorities to deliver real performance improvements in a

busy and demanding work environment.

Strong knowledge of safety and the proactive approach to improve safety performance.

Strong bias for action to identify potential problems and coordinate their resolution

before they become an issue. Continual enthusiasm and a desire to assist the

team to improve performance.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential to perform this role.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, have strong oral and written communication skills, and can troubleshoot complex problems quickly. You should also have excellent technical writing, multitasking, and project management skills.
