Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Executive Sous Chef to serve as the second-in-command in our kitchen, following the Executive Chef's specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will utilize their culinary and managerial expertise to play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely operation of the kitchen, meeting quality standards
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • Resourcefully address issues, seizing control of problematic situations
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules, and assess performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Requirements and Skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiarity with industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, and prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiarity with industry best practices
  • High level of professionalism
  • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
  • Punctual

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work/stand on feet for ten hours or more a day

Additional Requirements:

  • Asian culinary background preferred
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Food Safety Manager Certificate required
  • Sous Chef background required
  • Legal authorization to work in USA required
