At KBR, We Deliver. This position is within the Corporate Accounting Department supporting KBR’s health and welfare plans, stock-based compensation, and balance sheet. Activities include reviewing journal entries,

reconciling/reviewing

account activity, month-end close, reporting and analysis, monitoring internal controls related to the corporate ledger and various projects. This individual interacts frequently with colleagues, senior leadership and management, and other functional areas in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This individual must be able to work independently and provide guidance to staff on behalf of the manager. Personality traits such as ability to lead teams, planning, organizing, oral and written communications skills, and a collaborative personality are needed to perform effectively. Technical abilities include knowledge of benefits accounting topics and an in-depth understanding of GAAP. Intermediate Excel / Word / Access proficiency is required. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Employment Benefits Accounting. Responsibilities: Perform monthly / quarterly accounting activities (record, report, review, control and analyze) related to KBR’s global stock-based compensation and health and welfare plans.

Review quarterly/annual schedules and analysis for financial disclosure and management reporting.

Assist manager with the review documents prepared by Sr. Accountant.

Develop and oversee the expense allocation rates for KBR’s annual budget and periodic forecasts, as well as related analysis of variances to plans.

Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Participate and lead other department activities, such as accounting for benefits and/or incentive plans pensions and process improvement initiatives, as assigned.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and document in external software.

Review reconciliations prepared by Sr. Accountant.

Maintain Sarbanes Oxley support of key financial control activities.

Perform and review quarterly/monthly SOX controls.

Review and prepare PBCs, reports and analysis for internal & external auditors

Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Qualifications, Skills, and Behaviors: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

5-7 years of relevant accounting experience

2+ years of benefits experience including incentive & stock-based compensation

2+ years of experience leading or supervising others

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Ability to identify and execute process improvements.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.

Collaborative and effective interaction with various levels of company personnel.

Detail oriented and organized in work.

Capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and working independently.

Advanced degree or CPA is a plus.

Experience with SAP, Costpoint, Oracle EPM/FCCS or major ERP system is a plus
