Basic Purpose:

The position of New Product Introduction (NPI) Systems Engineer has the main mission of facilitating and driving the introduction of new & innovative design, and advanced technologies in support of preprogram business acquisition activities and efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Research, absorb, document and disseminate knowledge for new automotive electrical systems architecture and related component, and assemblies.
  2. Interface with and survey supply base for state-of-the-art technologies and components that enable futuristic technologies implementation such as Vehicle Operating System, IoT and ADAS.
  3. Interface, coordinate and align with cross-functional teams within company including program management in order to assure a smooth merger of new design concepts and technologies into running programs. This includes interfacing with global Advanced Engineering and Marketing organizations in Japan, Germany and so on.
  4. Support and/or drive new technologies introduction in the design of vehicle electrical systems by creating advanced innovative design concepts and proposals utilizing the pre-program components and software that are "up-and-coming " in the market place.
  5. Workout the alignment of Advanced Technologies, Systems, Modules and Components with short, mid and long term programs and business projections and assure that relevant colleagues are aware of what is coming, what is possible and what wish-list exist for futuristic technologies implementation.

Minimum Position Specifications:

  • 5-7 years progressive engineering experience
  • Strong analytical ability and deep technical aptitude
  • Deep understanding of Systems Thinking and the interconnectedness of the parts that make-up the whole in mechanical, electromechanical, and mechatronic systems
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Systems Thinking (a comprehensive approach to defining functionality, optimizing and diagnosing complex systems)
  • Up to 20% travel required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)
