Description
The Compliance & Risk Coordinator position oversees a systematic process for the identification, mitigation, and correction of actual and potential incidents, losses, and exposures. This position collects and analyzes data and prepares reports which are presented to departments within the organizations, the CEO, and the Board for review and action as necessary. This position assures compliance with applicable standards, as well as state and federal regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions

- Oversees the compliance & risk management programs and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local standards, rules, and regulations.
- Manages the incident reporting process and conducts investigations as needed. Maintains the incident report log and compiles data for analysis and trending. Works closely with the Director of Quality & Innovation and the CEO to review incidents and complaints.
- Identifies areas of risk, liability, or compliance vulnerability within the organization and works with leadership to develop a plan for mitigation.
- Educates employees on corporate compliance policies and procedures, including orientating new employees to these programs. Promotes organizational compliance standards and policies to agency staff in daily work interactions.
- Assists with audits conducted by external agencies and develops Performance Improvement Plan as needed.
- Periodically reviews and revises the corporate compliance and risk management procedures in response to changes in organizational needs and in the laws and policies of government and health plans.
- Coordinates with other staff in the Quality & Risk Management department to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) required.
Experience
Three (3) years' experience in behavioral health related work, familiarity with behavioral healthcare laws, regulations, and standards preferred.

Computer Skills
Advanced computer fluency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Additional Qualifications
Competency in conducting very detail-oriented work; ability to handle and respect confidential, sensitive information; possess demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to react effectively in a variety of human service situations.
