Description

Sunflower Bank is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Financial Analyst II in Plano, TX. The Financial Analyst II will have responsibility for month end close process in generating and reviewing entries and executing monthly analysis of operating results in comparison to budget. This role will support the Mortgage division and also assist with executing the annual budget at the cost center and GL account level, with responsibility for ensuring assumptions and output are properly updated and reflected in the models.

This role has the option for a hybrid remote status.

  • Continuous evaluation of opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting
  • Model and input detailed financial budgets for all departments and analyze results
  • Execute monthly analysis of operating results in comparison to budget
  • Produce monthly Senior Leadership financial report package, including review of output to ensure accuracy of data provided to Senior Leadership
  • Produce quarterly Board of Directors financial report package, including review of output to ensure accuracy of data provided to the Board
  • Maintain existing ad hoc reports, develop new reports as needed
  • Gather various data points from multiple sources and aggregate into reports/analytics used for monthly executive meetings and quarterly board meetings
  • Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company.
  • Responsible for upholding Fair and Responsible Banking practices and Code of Ethics and Conduct guidelines.
  • Understand and participate in the Bank's Community Reinvestment Act program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA a plus.
  • Experience working with databases and query experience.
  • Strong MS Excel skills, high emphasis on financial modeling.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Two to four years of Finance experience, with emphasis on budgeting and forecasting.
  • Banking background preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of all other Microsoft Office applications and Internet Explorer.
Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience and location.
