Job Summary:

Join New Community Covenant Church in Logan Square as our Operations and Communications Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in managing our church office and fostering effective communication with our congregation and external partners. This full-time position requires a dynamic individual with strong administrative, financial management, and communication skills, along with a passion for serving our community.

This position reports directly to the senior pastor and works closely with the leadership team and church staff.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

Serve as the primary point of contact for the church office, managing emails, phones, and social media communications.

Maintain up-to-date internal and external calendars, manage the church database, and oversee employee onboarding/offboarding.

Coordinate special projects and provide administrative support for various ministries.

Office & Building Management:

Manage room reservations, maintain office space cleanliness and orderliness, and oversee supply management.

Handle confidential files and records, collect and distribute mail, and manage building access for external groups.

Financial Management:

Oversee office expenditures and maintain a sound financial accounting system.

Manage accounts payable/receivable, reconcile expenses, and administer payroll and insurance.

Provide administrative support for annual budget development and reconciliation.

Coordinate with vendors, support congregational giving, and assist with budget reconciliation processes.

Relationship Management:

Act as the first point of contact for the church, managing external relationships and supporting various ministries.

Serve as a liaison for counseling partnerships and other various external partners.

Provide administrative financial support for the disbursement committee, building committee’s financial requests, and requests from the Leadership Team Treasurer.

Provide administrative support for church ministries and manage building rental requests, including weddings and community events.

Communications:

Develop and manage all church communications, including the website, social media, newsletters, and print materials.

Ensure communication content is accurate, engaging, and aligns with the church’s mission.

Manage relationships with external contractors and oversee design, printing, and distribution of communication materials.

Skills & Qualifications:

Active Christ-follower fully committed to the mission of New Community.

Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit management, or related field preferred.

Previous experience in office management, financial management, and communication, preferably in a church or nonprofit setting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Quickbooks, and church management software.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

People-oriented, able to successfully engage with people of diverse backgrounds, and work well within team and independent settings.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail to manage various responsibilities efficiently.

Flexibility to work outside standard office hours and adapt to changing priorities.

Additional Information:

Role is in person Tuesday – Friday from 9a-5p, with an additional 8 hours remote or flex hours to support Sunday services, rental requests or work remotely.
