The Supply Chain Operations Manager is responsible for the performance of Supply Chain Operations across multiple locations. The Managers responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assessing and meeting customer needs, communicating business goals and objectives to partners, and addressing partner issues and concerns. The Manager is also responsible for monitoring staffing and overtime, issuing corrective actions, completing performance evaluations and maintaining a strong focus on safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the supply chain operations activities for assigned locations.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders from all departments to establish and maintain appropriate stocking levels, utilizing data to inform and improve service levels.
  • Establishes and maintains staffing levels to meet expected demand.
  • Ensures that effective processes and procedures are in place for Receiving, Storage and Distribution of products.
  • Manages optimal utilization of information technology tools to ensure operational capabilities are being maximized.
  • Ensures that an effective process is in place for managing product expirations and recalls.
  • Aligns with internal and external best practices to implement policies and procedures that optimize operations and ensure controls compliant with Mercyhealth requirements.
  • Designs and implements improvements to inventory management processes and optimized operations programs to ensure continuity of supplies to support excellent patient care.
  • Provides project management and support for projects as assigned.
  • Ensures that Supply Chain equipment is in good working order.
  • Assists the Director with the preparation of respective work unit budgets (operations and capital) and regular monitoring of compliance to budgetary constraints.
  • Assists Director with the development, implementation, and monitoring of goals that support Mercyhealths strategies and objectives.
  • Assists Director with maintaining established department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, and safety standards.
  • Maintains a knowledge and understanding of OSHA, TJC, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in Value Analysis and product review committees as needed.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Nursing or related field is required; Masters degree preferred.

Three years of leadership experience required.

Experience in a hospital supply chain area preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Professional certification applicable with degree and experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Passing the Drivers License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).

Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check.

Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills

Serve as a resource for both Supply Chain partners and internal customers for all aspects of inventory management, receiving and supply-related activities.

Demonstrated competency with standard Mercyhealth applications such as Outlook, MS Office and MS Excel.
