Overview: The Senior Plant Accountant/Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the manufacturing plant. This role requires expertise in SAP software, budgeting, and cost accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Oversee all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic business decisions.

Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the plants annual budget.

Monitor and analyze monthly actual results against the budget.

Prepare rolling forecasts and financial projections.

Cost Accounting: Maintain detailed and accurate cost records.

Analyze production costs and product line profitability.

Conduct variance analysis and suggest improvements.

Participate in inventory analyses and reconciliations.

Internal Controls and Audits: Implement and maintain internal audit controls.

Conduct internal and external audits and address any findings.

Ensure operational effectiveness and compliance.

Provide financial reports, analysis, and advice to plant and corporate leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Plant Accountant or similar role in the manufacturing sector.

Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Proficiency with SAP software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Ability to apply accounting principles within the context of plant operations.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
