The Office of Leadership Engagement & Experiential Development (LEED) seeks a collaborative, energetic, and resourceful professional to serve as the **_Coordinator for Class Councils_**. The Coordinator for Class Councils will provide oversight and supervision to Class Councils for the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Classes in their planning, development, execution, and assessment of class activities. The Coordinator for Class Councils will report to the Assistant Director for Programming and Traditions and is part of a professional staff team in the Leadership Engagement & Experiential Development Office, a unit within the Division of Student Affairs. The Leadership Engagement & Experiential Development Office is responsible for hosting university-wide traditions, supporting student development through student organizations, and consistently creating engagement opportunities for JHU students.

The Coordinator for Class Councils is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive set of campus-wide programs that will largely be co-created and facilitated by the respective class councils. Class council programming includes, but is not limited to planning the Freshman Spring Social, the Sophomore Garden party, class cohort activities throughout the fall and spring semesters, and Senior Week. The Coordinator for the HOP will also partner with their colleagues in LEED to support university-wide traditions activities and registered student organizations. This role supports the goal of enhancing the student experience by bolstering student engagement, promoting student development, and increasing student belonging and success. This role reports to the assistant director of Leadership Engagement & Experiential Development and works with the assistant director to advise our class councils and subsequent committees. Evening and weekend hours are to be expected.

**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
- Advising and Supervision (50%)_
- Oversees daily operations of Class Councils and attends weekly meetings.
- Develops and implements training for Class Councils related to event planning, scheduling, budgeting, contracting, facilities, safety, food, and other related needs.
- Develops and executes infrastructure for communication, marketing, and promotion of weekly activities.
- Support and manage aspects of signature Class Council Events such as First-Year Ball, Sophomore Garden Party, Junior Masquerade Ball, Senior Week, and affinity events that join class years together throughout the academic year.
- Advises and assists the organization in the execution of activities.
- Serves as a liaison to other Student Affairs units and university partners on the development and execution of events and activities.
- Assess and mitigate potential risk factors associated with student programs. Suggest policy and procedure updates and coordinate with the Chief Risk Officer as needed.
- Monitors program budgets and advises specific committees on the responsible management of budget allocations totaling over $450,000, per university policy.
- Manages and monitors budgets for signature campus traditions events totaling $120,000, including monthly budget reviews.
- Maintains purchasing card including statement management for organizational purchases as needed.
- Facilitates training and learning opportunities for members of Class Councils including, but not limited to, participation in the National Association for Campus Activities.
- Collaboration and Partnership (25%)_
- Works collaboratively with the LEED Team to develop and facilitate student organization leadership and development training.
- Works collaboratively with the LEED team to develop and facilitate university-wide tradition and student engagement events.
- Represents the office and serves on various divisional and university committees.
- Serves on the Student Affairs Demonstration Team.
- Assessment (15%)_
- Works collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Traditions and Programming to develop program objectives and learning outcomes for members of The HOP.
- Develop and facilitate a comprehensive yearly assessment plan for student organizations.
- Participate in evaluating and developing student programs and policies related to student organizations and recommend changes based on the needs, interests, and national trends.
