Schedule - Shift - Hours: Full Time - Variable Job Category: Advanced Professional Provider Mid Coast Hospital is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to work at our 93-bed acute care facility with more than 200 providers on its active medical staff and broad subspecialty support. Position Summary Provides quality, cost-effective medical care for patients at Mid Coast Hospital. Works under the supervision and reports directly to the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Department, or a designated secondary supervising physician, regarding clinical issues and activities related to delivery of medical care to Mid Coast Hospital’s patients. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program or graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner training program with training in inpatient medicine. License/Certifications: State of Maine license as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (APRN-C) required. DEA Number is required. NCCPA or ANCC certification is required. BLS is required within 3 months of hire. ACLS is preferred within 6 months of hire. Experience: Training and/or experience in inpatient care required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, effective time management, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of health care management and the hospital care environment. Proficiency in the use of electronic medical record systems.
