Vice President of Human Resources

Reporting to the President of MadRag, the Vice President of Human Resources will provide human capital leadership to our retail stores and corporate office in North Bergen, NJ. Responsibilities include overseeing the development and implementation of company policies, programs, and services, including recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, training, employee relations, and performance management. She/he will serve as a key thought partner and trusted advisor to the executive leadership team and key organizational leaders. The VP, HR will also act as an accessible, approachable, and capable resource to associates throughout the organization, encouraging personal and professional growth and enabling our best asset – our people – to have a meaningful and successful career.
Overall Responsibilities
Create and implement programs around recruitment, retention, recognition, and engagement that sets Madrag apart as an employer of choice in the apparel and retail industry.
Establish and maintain authentic, respectful, and highly communicative relationships with associates at all levels of the organization to identify and respond to business needs.
Project manage HCM, time and attendance, ATS, and performance management implementations with UKG.
Enhance and further evolve a strong, inclusive culture for Madrag.
Design and implement employee development and performance management programs that allow for meaningful professional growth and engagement for our diverse populations in retail and corporate.
Create an engaging environment in which associates feel engaged and connected to our vision and strategy regardless of their store/office location or roles within the organization.
Design and implement creative compensation, benefits and recognition programs that support the recruitment and retention of top talent and also drives results.
Leverage data and analytics to understand employee engagement and opportunities to enhance retention and employee satisfaction.
Direct and oversee all people-related policies and initiatives to support a growing, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced organization, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and applicable labor laws.
Stay current with HR best practices in all relevant areas, including recruiting, labor laws, data analytics, benefits, and compliance.
Professional Experience
BA/BS in business administration or a related field required.
15 or more years of relevant experience leading HR functions (preferably in retail) with a strong background in change management and strategy execution and a broad understanding of all functional aspects of HR.
Experience with HRIS system implementations, a plus
Leadership: Must be a strategic, collaborative thinker who possesses a positive attitude, integrity, and a dedicated work ethic.
Attitude: Must be willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done, using your experience but also curious and flexible enough to continue to learn and grow.
Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally and create partnerships with people on all levels; must be able to influence without direct supervisory authority.
Results Oriented: Proven ability to take an idea from concept to fruition and achieve the desired outcome.
