What you will do:

Project Management

  • Assists operating and maintenance departments in developing proposed projects.
  • Develops cost estimates, plans, and schedules for new projects.
  • Assists with the preparation and submittal of authorization for capital expenditure and major repair work.
  • Prepare request for quotations, evaluate proposals, and issue contracts for equipment purchases, material purchases, design services, and construction contracts.
  • Circulate updated drawings and documentation to members of the project team.
  • Review and approve any change orders.
  • Coordinate project installations to have minimum impact to on-going operations.
  • Inspect work to ensure work is in compliance with contract documents.
  • Perform safety inspections to promote contractor job safety, and eliminate safety incidents on projects.
  • Ensure that project installation follows safe work practices by both contractor and Clearwater Paper employees.
  • Provide regular status reports on projects. •Assist with the management of project scope and budget to the approved project plan.
  • Maintain project documentation. Revise drawings and equipment files to reflect any changes. Update mill records to reflect changes.
  • Initiate the pre-start-up safety review to ensure equipment is ready for start-up. •Work with maintenance and operations departments to ensure successful implementation of project.
  • Manage and drive a post start-up punch list to meet the goals of the project.
Engineering Design
  • Verify existing equipment layouts and dimensions.
  • Assist with providing engineering analysis during selection and optimization of equipment.
  • Assist with detailed design drawings for equipment installations.
  • Assist with the coordination of design activities of consulting engineers and equipment manufacturers.
  • Review and approve equipment and engineering drawings.
Maintenance and Operation Assistance
  • Provide technical assistance to trouble-shoot equipment and/or operating problems.
  • Research options and recommend solutions to resolve operating and/or maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate contractor's activities for contracted-out maintenance work during equipment downtimes.
  • Provide engineering calculations and design drawings for equipment installed by maintenance crews.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in project management and engineering design
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, and or Solid works.
  • Proficient in JD Edwards or a similar enterprise system
  • High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces
  • Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
  • Dirt, noise, odor, and temperature extremes.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process
