Hamlyn Williams have partnered with a US-Based Finance Adjacent Firm, that is looking to hire a Senior Internal Auditor - Operational Risk to work out of their Chicago IL offices.
Interested candidates should have a curiosity for, and track record of auditing credit, regulatory, operational, and strategic risks.
To qualify for this role, you must be able to work on-site up to 3 time per-week, in one of the locations above. If this is not possible please do not apply.
As a Senior Internal Auditor - Operational Risk you will:
Have strong knowledge of general audit principals and practices and be familiar with the IIA’s International Standards for the Professional Practice of Auditing, and other relevant standards (AICPA, IPPF, COSO).
Be part of the team responsible for the prompt delivery of assigned audits within the annual audit plan.
Provide support to the group, whilst ensuring audit quality, and results.
Be able to identify any potential regulatory, operational or strategic risks, and alert the relevant bodies.
Be aware of any inefficient practices and propose alternative solutions, where needed.
Lead and partake in audits relating to new business process and system rollouts. Championing engagement from the wider workforce, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
As a Senior Internal Auditor - Operational Risk you will need:
2 - 5 years’ audit-related experience, conducting risk-based operational compliance audit projects/ business process reviews/ audits .
A Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Finance, Business Administration, or related.
Prior experience working with or for financial services organizations, or within public accounting is preferred.
Strong communication skills (oral and written), and the ability to handle potentially sensitive situations.
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
Certifications such as; CIA, CPA, CFSA, CRMA etc. preferred.
