The Casting Operator 1 is responsible for safely operating all casting and other machinery related to membrane manufacturing under limited supervision. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of Pall San Diego. This position is part of the Membrane Casting department and will be located in San Diego, California.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Adhere to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with ISO policies, procedures and work instructions. Handle hazardous waste correctly.
  • Operate one of the three casting machines, including preparing polymer, mixing standard membrane solutions, performing mix adjustments and transferring solutions. Identify defects and troubleshoot machines.
  • Perform all job-related functions with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • A high school diploma, GED or equivalent; Minimum of 6 months' work experience, preferably in a production environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge, data entry and email. Basic measuring and intermediate math skills.
  • Able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push and pull for at least 8 hours per day; able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; able to work in wet or humid conditions.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • A production environment with moderate to loud noise levels
  • An environment with fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals (Appropriate PPE for these situations is provided on site.)

The hourly range for this role is $18.00-$20.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
