What you will do

  • Monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots additions of host, service, and software objects utilizing various monitoring systems, including Elastic Stack, Graphite, Grafana, Puppet, Icinga, PagerDuty, Prometheus, Kubernetes, TeamCity, and Quest Foglight.
  • Performs and troubleshoots deployments of software systems and agents.
  • Follows directed practices to ingest logs and analytics from new and existing systems.
  • Uses analysis data to review system performance issues and outages to aid in active troubleshooting and post outage analysis.
  • Proactively reviews and monitors client and product environments for potential performance issues.
  • Works and maintains relationships with various product development and Cloud teams.
  • Reviews application response metrics during and after system and agent deployments, communicates anomalies with system owners.
  • Conducts performance analysis, cause contributor analysis, monitoring, and analytics gathering against various systems including, Hyper-V, Windows, Linux, WAF systems, Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Docker, Kubernetes, NetApp, SQL Server, MySQL, and Yardi developed software.
  • Consults on projects to improve system resilience.
  • Maintains documentation related to tools and environments.
  • Responds to system availability and performance alerts.
  • Collaborates with Yardi teams and management to safeguard the integrity of all systems.
What you need to have
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One plus (1+) years of experience working with Windows or Linux server operating systems.
  • One plus (1+) years of experience working within a software development or hosting environment as a Technical Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Software Engineer.
  • One plus (1+) years of experience troubleshooting and analyzing software systems.
  • Understanding of Windows and Linux performance indicators.
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of procedures for analysis and response to system outage or performance degradation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and system analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
What would be helpful to have
  • One plus (1+) years of experience with Yardi developed software.
  • Experience using a VCS (Git, SVN, etc.)
  • Experience with TeamCity, Jenkins, or other automation platforms
  • Experience with Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
  • Experience working with APIs.
  • Experience working with containers and orchestrators such as Docker / Kubernetes
  • Experience working with IIS, Tomcat, Apache, or Nginx
  • Experience working with MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle databases.
  • Experience working with data ingestion pipelines.
  • Experience working with monitoring and observability systems.
  • Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Comfortable programming and debugging code.
  • Understanding of monitoring and analysis techniques.
  • Understanding of various networking protocols and topologies.
  • Fundamental understanding of how web applications work and how to troubleshoot them.
