Are you ready to ignite your passion for technology and education? The Science Mill is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Technology Coordinator. As a vital member of our team, you will unleash your creativity in developing educational experiences that captivate diverse audiences, from students and families to educators. Your expertise in coding, robotics, digital fabrication, and emerging technologies will fuel our mission. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

Program Development: Collaborate with the Education and Exhibits teams to design, create, and implement technology-focused educational programs and experiences that align with Science Mill's mission. These programs should cater to diverse audiences, including school groups, families, and educators, and should cover various technology-related topics such as coding, robotics, digital fabrication, and emerging technologies.

Museum Exhibit Support: Assist in the development and maintenance of technology-oriented exhibits within the museum. Ensure exhibits are interactive, informative, and aligned with educational standards. Regularly update and improve existing exhibits to enhance the visitor experience and keep content relevant to contemporary technological advancements.

First Robotics Team Mentorship: Take a leadership role in mentoring and guiding the Science Mill's First Robotics Team. Inspire and support team members in their exploration of robotics and engineering principles. Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among the team members as they prepare for competitions and engage in robotics-related projects.

STEM Programs: Collaborate with the education team to bring technology-focused educational programs through onsite learning labs, offsite programs at schools, community centers, and events.

Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in technology and STEM education. Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars related to the field to enhance your expertise and bring fresh ideas to the organization.

Evaluation and Assessment: Regularly assess the effectiveness and impact of technology-focused programs and exhibits. Utilize feedback and data to make data-driven improvements and ensure alignment with the Science Mill's goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong communication, interpersonal, technology, customer service and presentation skills

Experience with coding and programming in some of the following languages: MakeCode, Block Coding, Scratch, C+ or Java, Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS and Mobile devices

Familiarity with educational coding and programming resources such as Knowledge of current and popular educational technology tools, including microcontrollers and microprocessors such as: Circuit Playground Express (CPX), Arduino, micro:bit, Hummingbird Robotics and Raspberry Pi

Familiarity or willingness to become familiar with FIRST robot control systems

Familiarity or willingness to become familiar with the competition game rules and FIRST procedures and documentation

Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and applications.

As the Technology Coordinator at the Science Mill, you will play a vital role in realizing the organization's mission and vision by developing innovative and engaging programming, supporting museum exhibits, and serving as a mentor for the First Robotics Team.
