Brief Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for:
+ Applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information.
+ Possesses a solid understanding of not-for-profit accounting principles.
+ Reconcile balance sheet account as assigned.
+ Proficient in leadership competencies related to leading self.
Specific Duties
Primary duties and responsibilities:
+ Monthly analysis, journal entries, and reconciliation of various revenue/expense and balance sheet accounts.
+ Assist in the preparation of audit schedules including financial statements and disclosures for the Foundation.
+ Assist with the generation of information for outside accounting firm in preparation of the annual 990-T returns for the Foundation.
+ Manage the monthly closing of the Foundation books.
+ Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills Required/Preferred

+ Must be well organized.
+ Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Professional:
+ Knowledge of standard financial concepts, practices, and procedures..
+ Must be able to meet critical deadlines.
+ Ability to succeed with managing change in a complex organization.
Technical:
+ Proficient in Microsoft products
+ Experience preferred with Microsoft Dynamics D365
Education/Experience
Additional Criteria
Education
+ Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.
Experience
+ At least 3-5 years financial related work experience.
This role is based out of the Northfield, IL headquarters and candidates must reside within a reasonable commute to the office.
