Data Visualization/Power BI Analyst

Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, analysts, and IT teams, to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical requirements. Design and develop data models that are optimized for performance and ease of use. This includes creating relationships between tables, defining calculated columns, and implementing measures using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions). Challenge API driven datasets and how they are reported in Power BI Connect to various data sources such as SQL databases, cloud services, Excel spreadsheets, and other data repositories; ensure data is accurately imported and updated regularly. Design and create interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards. Use Power BI features like slicers, filters, and drill-downs to enhance user experience and data exploration. Use Power Query to clean, transform, and shape data as required; his may involve merging tables, pivoting data, and implementing complex transformations. Monitor and optimize the performance of reports and dashboards. This includes tuning data models, optimizing DAX queries, and ensuring efficient data refresh processes. Perform thorough testing of reports and dashboards to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Validate results with stakeholders to ensure they meet business requirements. Document data models, report logic, and processes. Provide training and support to end-users to help them effectively use Power BI reports and dashboards. Regularly update reports and dashboards to reflect new business requirements, data changes, and feedback from users. Ensure data security and compliance with organizational policies. Ensure the Dashboards are compliant with UI/UX standards set by the organizational policy. Ability to create interactive reports, dashboards, and utilize slicers, filters, drill-downs, and other visual enhancements. DAX Proficiency: Strong experience with DAX for creating calculated columns, measures, and other complex expressions to ensure accurate and efficient data analysis. Power Query Mastery: Deep understanding of Power Query for data cleansing, transformation, and shaping (e. g., merging tables, pivoting, implementing complex transformations). API & Data Integration: Familiarity with API-driven datasets and best practices for reporting data from APIs in Power BI. Business Intelligence Analysis: Ability to collaborate with stakeholders (e. g., business users, analysts, IT teams) to gather reporting requirements and translate them into actionable technical specifications. Performance Optimization: Proven ability to monitor and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance. Includes tuning data models, optimizing DAX queries, and ensuring fast refresh processes. Data Accuracy and Testing: Strong attention to detail when testing and validating reports and dashboards to ensure data accuracy and that business requirements are met. Stakeholder Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, provide feedback, and ensure alignment between technical and business teams.
