TECKpert seeks to hire a GIS Applications Specialist to support our client, a government agency based in Tallahassee, FL. In this role, you will collaborate with technical and program area staff to assist with projects related to cadastral mapping, property tax records, and/or land ownership. The ideal candidate will have experience in systems analysis, environmental assessment and/or natural resources, land title, real estate, and land surveying. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Data clean-up including analysis and resolution of system-generated data warnings and conflicts. Research, analyze, and resolve GIS and non-GIS data conflicts in response to data conflicts and warnings. Conduct GIS and non-GIS data clean-up activities as assigned by client's staff. Perform review of property appraiser data and mapping to solve issues related to public land ownership. Perform research of client internal systems data and client hard copy records and document findings. Perform public records research of vesting deeds. Review Water Management District and other state agency GIS data. Research available digital and hardcopy mapping and land title across multiple state agencies and every Florida county. Develop and continually assess for improvement and communications processes. Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications. Compensation and Term

This opportunity is for a full-time position with paycommensurate with experience up to $115,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire. Candidates are expected to work onsite at our client’s location. Qualifications you need

A successful

GIS Applications Specialist possesses or provides the following: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,Business, Management, or related degree. A minimum of three (3) year's experience with land survey and cadastral mapping. A minimum of three (3) year's experience with GIS mapping applications. Experience with Environmental Assessment or Natural Resource processing systems. Prior experience with projects related to cadastral mapping, property tax records, and/or land ownership, and title research. Ability to be creative, to use sound judgment, and to display foresight to identify potential problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to work independently. Ability to work as part of a team. Strong deadline and task management skills. Sound discretionary judgment skills. Strong analysis skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both verbally and in writing, with both technical and non-technical staff and clients. Ability to solve problems and manage issues effectively, proactively, and aggressively. Knowledge of environmental regulatory business processes and practices.
