GIS Professional Job Description

CDR Maguire, Inc. is seeking a skilled GIS Professional to contribute to impactful projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including experience with mapping software, spatial data analysis, and data visualization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage GIS teams to support operations during expanding and complex incidents.
  • Configure teams to support mission-specific needs and activities.
  • Provide oversight for GIS activities and manage resources to produce GIS products and services.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with various stakeholders.
  • Experience using ArcGIS Enterprise, Fieldmaps, and Survey123 in a professional setting.
  • Understanding of common location reference systems, including United States National Grid (USNG), latitude/longitude, and other appropriate location languages.
  • Ability to acquire and evaluate different map types and data sources to understand limitations and present the most useful information.
  • Knowledge to provide oversight, guidance, and direction for the use of predictive models such as Hazus Multi-Hazards, CBRN, and Wildland Fire Behavior Modeling.
  • Current knowledge and skills regarding the use and application of the latest GIS technology and certifications used in the industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS-100.
  • IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS-200.
  • ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents.
  • IS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction.
  • IS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction.
  • IS-922: Applications of GIS for Emergency Management.
  • E/L 0964: National Incident Management System Incident Command System All-Hazards Situation Unit Leader Course, or equivalent.
  • E/G/L 0191: Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface.
  • Successful completion of the National Qualification System (NQS) Position Task Book (PTB) for the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Geographic Information Systems Supervisor, or equivalent AHJ documentation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% or the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, or printer.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
