We sell only to wholesale distribution and provide same day shipping from distribution foot print in the U.S. and Canada. With a total of 2+ million square feet of warehouse space we have industry leading fill rates and next day delivery to most customers which has enabled us to become the fastest growing wire and cable supplier in the industry.

We are privately held by Ken Hamilton and Jim Newman who started the company in 1993. With no corporate overhead or layers of teams to deal with, we are very flexible and customer focused so if you need something special, just ask. Priority Wire & Cable has grown to 250+ employees which includes 40+ Inside Sales Wire Experts and 40+ Representative Agencies who are directed by our management team.

**Description**

This positions primary function will to assist in the development of supply chain strategy on an intercompany basis. This individual will focus on the strategic management of shipments, reporting transportation metrics, identifying trends across national transportation methods and practices, providing visibility through projects and tools, ensuring that internal company material needs are met and that company policy and international trade compliance regulations are adhered to. This includes developing, measuring and reporting process and performance metrics to drive improvements, supporting the fulfillment of customer orders and initiating improvements in logistics operation and inventory profiles as a company.

We are a progressive procurement organization pushing the boundaries of traditional procurement reputation and methodologies. We are looking for individuals who can think outside the box to achieve company objectives regarding value and partnerships with both our customers and suppliers alike.

**Support Responsibilities Could Include:**

Assist in the implementation of national logistics strategy to support regional business growth.

Assist in transportation management and distribution of material between intra company warehouse operations and drive the continuous improvements.

Maintaining and developing relationships with current, new and potential service providers.

Drive standardization of transportation processes across the region.

Assist in providing Technical oversight for the Harmonized Tariff Classification data utilized PWC.

Take part in material expedite progress, monitoring capacity information and accurately inputting/relaying data to sales via PWC internal CRM software.

Monitor current category market conditions to be able to identify supply/demand challenges and opportunities.

Identify supplier consolidation opportunities that will generate savings from executing strategic sourcing projects.

Identify and negotiate commercial cost reduction opportunities.

Build technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, technology landscape, and supply base.

Work on Lean initiatives and identify other sourcing efficiencies via benchmarking.

Work with supplier/logistics providers to drive continuous quality improvement.

Fully support aggressive program and project timelines.

Assist in purchasing and product management team with active project when needed.

**Qualifications/Desired Characteristics**

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university

Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Advanced understanding of MS Excel, Access & PowerPoint

Comfortable with Sourcing Systems and a willingness to learn

Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve

Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects

Ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives.

Ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement

Experience with MRO commodities / suppliers

Strategic Sourcing, Opportunity Analyses, and Contract Negotiations (Purchasing/Service Agreements) skills.

Commercial experience understanding, such as cost analysis, internal and external benchmarking, market trend analysis

Ability to work well under tight deadlines and frequently changing priorities

Proven ability to execute and deliver on commitments
