This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate, as it is a brand new facility and is a blank canvas for a high performing and independent engineer. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and manufacturing aptitude and problem solving skills, along with well-developed interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Working as a Production Engineer it is important that you are capable of effectively managing changing priorities, are self-motivated and thrive in an extremely fast paced environment. You must understand lean manufacturing principals, have a high level of mechanical aptitude, be a strong proponent of continuous change and enjoy spending time on the production floor. This is a very hands on engineering position. Qualifications; Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university (Mechanical or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering preferred, but other concentrations will be considered for the right candidate) Three to ten years of manufacturing experience required Some of the responsibilities and key characteristics include but are not limited to: Be responsible for implementing and maintaining high safety standards Maintain processes and product to established Quality Control standards Ability to analyze and resolve problems Ability to propose and implement new processes and process improvements with minimal guidance Project management Provide input and implementation of standard operating procedures Implement lean principles such as takt times, visual management, kaizen, and kanban Be a positive change agent for production processes Liaison between design engineering and production Serving as a technical resource to production staff, customers and sales We offer an extensive training program that will include training and exposure to fabrication and electrical design, applications engineering at our corporate office (located in Richmond, BC, Canada) and production engineering training in Cheney, WA or Kingston, ON, Canada. Training in Richmond, BC and Kingston, ON requires that you be willing and able to travel internationally.
