FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

OVERVIEW:

KSB, a worldwide leader in pump manufacturing is looking for a field service engineer to lead technical service activities on centrifugal pumps (such as boiler feed water, submersible and process pumps) including installation, start-up, planned maintenance, overhaul/repairs, and customer training of valves and centrifugal pumps. The field service engineer will exercise practical, technical and mechanical competences and communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to the internal team and with our customers

The primary focus will be on providing service for Energy & Industry Pumps. Secondarily service will include Water and Wastewater applications, including water treatment plants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as technical liaison to customer personnel during field services projects.
  • Reviews applicable contract data, drawings, procedures, etc. in preparation of customer visits to become familiar with the companies' contractual obligations.
  • Inspects company supplied equipment for quality, completeness and suitability for operation prior to initial startup.
  • Suggest installation procedures and special equipment during trouble shooting.
  • Write concise, technical reports at conclusion of each assignment, outlining special problems, warranty issues, customer observations/complaints and other pertinent information to complete the assignment.
  • Perform training and presentations at customer sites regarding installation, start-up, maintenance and overhaul of company products.
  • Adheres to Company policies and procedures in regards to expenses, travel, and assets, and submits all time and expense reports in accordance to Company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to provide consultation and supervision of the installation of centrifugal pumps and related equipment.
  • Time management - Ability to manage one's own time and prioritize tasks for craft personnel when onsite.
  • Effective Communications - Ability to convey information effectively in writing, one on one and in group settings.
  • Reading Comprehension - Ability to understand technical documentation written in English.
  • Problem Solving - Identify potential problems and address them before they become issues. Able to be creative in identifying solutions to resolve problems.
  • Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and responding appropriately.
  • Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules of mechanics to specific problems to produce appropriate answers.
  • Tolerance familiarity with metric (ISO) units, tolerances and drawing interpretation.
  • Travel - International and overnight travel to foreign and domestic assignments is required. Anticipated travel is 75% of the time.
  • Bachelors in Engineering or 3+ years practical experience in rotating equipment repair, maintenance or commissioning (centrifugal pumps preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Fluency in Spanish, preferred
