American Communications Solutions is seeking a SharePoint developer to perform as SharePoint development and maintenance on one of its Department of Veteran Affairs contracts. A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated SharePoint development, interfacing with clients, gathering requirements, and providing SharePoint management and support is required. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills. Position will be on site temporarily remote.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the SharePoint developer/Web developer developing utilizing the full spectrum of SharePoint development technologies including C# (ASP.NET), JavaScript (jQuery), REST API, HTML, CSS, InfoPath, Visual Studio, SharePoint Object Model (OM), SPFx, and PowerShell.
  • Create, deploy, and maintain customize SharePoint pages using the standard SharePoint User Interface or SharePoint Designer.
  • Create, leverage, and manage content types, site columns, and templates for site use.
    Create workflows, automation, understand permissions, create forms, and be able to troubleshoot existing forms.
  • Consult with customers on SharePoint requirements, constraints, and best practices.
  • Design SharePoint solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Design and maintain database structures for applications from customer application requirements
  • Develop custom SharePoint web sites utilizing the Office 365 platform. Perform user interface development and aide with best practices on configuration and help develop customization
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
  • Must be able to understand Windows production environments
  • 5-7 years of technical experience in SharePoint Online, MS SharePoint Server, SharePoint SME, and disaster recovery fluency for SharePoint. Do not need experience in SharePoint 2013/2016 because we use SP online.
  • Experience with modern SharePoint architecture and implementation
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Strong team skills
  • Coordinates with Systems and Applications personnel on issues related to deployment of the VA web and portal applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team; ability and willingness to adapt to changing business demands.
  • Ability to produce acceptable amount of work efficiently and accurately; ability to produce quality final work product.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Must exhibit an independent interest in the use of new technologies, tools and professional development
  • Building and generating reports
  • Bachelors Degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required plus at least 5 years of experience (10years of experience can replace education requirement)
  • Must have experience working with the Federal Government. Preferably have experience with VA and/or currently on a federal government contract.
Special Requirements/Security Clearance:
  • Ability to Obtain Public Trust.
