Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Recorder is responsible for examing and appropriately recording documents and setting up policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Records documents in appropriate recording district.
•Reviews documents to determine accuracy and recordablity in compliance with written instructions
•Takes and gives to Disburser to release for creation
•Advises the Disburser that the file has been recorded.
•Assists Disburser to balance recording and title fees.
•Collaborates and communicates with other departments to resolve title issues.
•Provides customer service to clients
•Sets up files for Policy Typist.
•Maintains courtesy record log. Returns original document to appropriate party.
•Adheres to company policy and guidelines.
•Always maintains confidentiality.
•Work as a "team-player" with co-workers in a respectful and supportive manner.
•Seek and participate in development and training opportunities.
•Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
•Knowledge of closing disclosure and settlement statement, documentation preparation, file disbursement, post-closing follow-up and customer service.
•Knowledge of real estate documents and expertise in ordering documents through an attorney on owner-finance transactions.
•Confidentiality of the highest level is required for this position and examples of exemplifying this attribute is a must.
•Ability to operate standard business computers with advanced knowledge of related business applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
•Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines and general time management.
•Ability to prepare accurate, timely, effective complete and easily understood written communications.
•Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
•Strong self-motivation and work ethic.
•Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and organizations; exceptional follow-up skills.
•Ability to multitask and work productively under pressure.
•Ability to actively listen and provide high quality customer service.
•Willingness to participate in marketing efforts and attend industry/promotional events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•High School diploma
•Minimum of two (2) year administrative experience. Real estate, banking, or title field a plus.
•Customer service experience, knowledge of banking, real estate transactions, and lending a plus.
•Ability to pass a background screening.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Fidelity Title Agency has an office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times, there may be a need to attend industry functions.
