**OVERVIEW:**

**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:**

Under the direction of the Assistant Deputy Director for Special Initiatives and Grants Management, the Grants Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the management of four sub-awardee partners under the Apprenticeship Building America grant awarded by the USDOLs Employment and Training Administration (ETA). Particular attention will be provided to Bostons high need communities and ensuring the efficient, appropriate, and professional outreach to targeted community members. The Grants Administrators primary responsibilities will be leading outreach and recruitment and providing project management support; this will include reviewing invoices, managing relations with sub-awardees, planning program events, and assisting with program monitoring. Additional responsibilities include leading partner meetings and forming relationships with all stakeholders, including federal agencies and contractors, sub-grantees, participants and their families; and working with community partners such as unions, community based job-training providers, neighborhood organizations and City departments/agencies, to support their in-house recruitment and marketing efforts. The Grants Administrator will also attend community events as a representative of OWD/programs they manage.

**GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Liaise with federal agencies/contractors to coordinate reporting and compliance with site visits. Liaise with ABA sub-awardees to coordinate contracts, invoicing, reporting, and site visit monitoring

+ Liaise with the Massachusetts State Division of Apprentice Standards (DAS) as a part of ongoing monitoring and program support

+ Organize, publicize, and manage community outreach events targeted to reach key populations eligible for the ABA grant and other OWD special projects as assigned.

+ Help plan for, attend, and take notes at bi-weekly ABA partner meetings and events as required.

+ Develop publicity techniques for promoting programs and recruiting participants, such as planning and carrying out community events, improved poster design, increased digital presence, email outreach, coordinating with communications staff to plan and execute outreach strategies.

+ Meet with community orgs to find opportunities for partnership and mutual promotion

+ Conduct outreach and recruitment for the ABA grant and assigned special projects

+ Act as a representative at community events such as job fairs/programming related to apprenticeships to build network and learn about resources available to participants

+ Perform other related duties as requested.

**REQUIRMENTS:**

Requires 2+ years of experience working with diverse, low-income adult populations and/or experience in workforce development, education and/or job development. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are needed. Bilingual/Bicultural experience is highly desirable. Must be able to work as part of a team and be willing to work in the community and in other unstructured situations. Must be able to work weekend and/or evening schedules as required. Computer literacy/typing skills are required. Both strong self-direction and ability to collaborate with a team are needed.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**

Normal office environment; occasional site visits.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

Little or no exertion; occasional local travel.

**SCOPE:**

Supervises volunteers and interns as needed.
