Overview To manage critical mortgage loan documents while also ensuring their accuracy, quality and integrity. Adhere to safeguarding of information; retrieval of data/documents effectively; in accordance with company and investor document life-cycle procedures; and company and investor records retention regulations and requirements. Ensure retention of documents at investors' document custodian secured site, maintaining compliance with federal, state, investor and Navy Federal guidelines and regulations. Provide mortgage documentation for regulatory, business partner and member inquiries. Complete document reviews to ensure alignment with Service Level Agreements. Process lien releases and paid in full mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with federal, state and Navy Federal regulations. Research, analyze and resolve escalated problems related to mortgage servicing documentation and record retention. Monitor daily dashboard reports. Work under moderate supervision and perform moderately complex/varied tasks. Responsibilities Monitor and respond to various queues/queries via email and/or phone Review scanned mortgage documentation, index the image and validate the imaged document reflects the correct document type Review and validate indexing accuracy for all additional incoming imaged documents in the Worklist queue that are not included in the original loan package Identify final versions of critical documents to transmit to Mortgage Loan Review Identify trends with system indexing issues and report to management Complete mortgage and equity document reviews to ensure alignment with Service Level Agreement (SLA) timelines and standards Research, analyze and respond to correspondence from members, attorneys, title companies and other financial institutions regarding lien release and requests for critical documents Participates in contacting key external third parties (e.g. investor document custodians settlement attorneys, title companies, and government agencies) to facilitate the correction and delivery of critical documents Participates in Request, monitor and track mortgage notes sent to document custodians, default attorney and internal business units Research, analyze and resolve escalated problems related to mortgage servicing documentation and record retention. Complete research and validate status of documents, submit urgent request to vendor to record accordingly Assist secondary marketing by providing mortgage notes and other critical documentation for final investor pool certification and/or investor sale Coordinate with internal business units and investors in managing the reconciliation of the investor monthly report Obtain and prepare documentation to complete daily status reports for Review, process and validate documentation for paid in full mortgage loans is processed and recorded in accordance to applicable state regulations and requirements Interact with members, internal business partners and outside contacts to resolve discrepancies, problems and issues Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Exposure to responding effectively to highly sensitive, complex and/or urgent member/customer requests Ability to work effectively and efficiently with automated systems Ability to work independently and in a team environment Basic written and verbal communication skills Basic word processing and spreadsheet software skills Basic research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Basic organizational, planning and time management skills Basic skill collaborating with various external and internal technical and/or functional contacts Basic skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines Basic skill interacting with staff, management, vendors, member diplomatically & tactfully Desired Qualifications Ability to obtain notary public license Member/customer service experience, preferably in a call center, retail banking or financial institution Familiarity with Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) policies, procedures, products and services Associate degree or higher in Business Administration, Records and Archive Management or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience Familiarity with common file classification conventions (including, but not limited to, alphabetic, numeric, geographic, and subject-based filing systems) Exposure to mortgage mortgage/equity loan processing, closing and documentation requirements and regulations Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180 About Us You have goals, dreams, hobbies, and things you're passionate about-what's important to you is important to us.
